Lesson Number Two

Research bushwalks before you tackle them...or at least glance at a map...and maybe take one.

So the plan was to do the Valley of the Waters bushwalk that we'd seen in our Best Walks book.  Thing is, we really didn't look at it properly - either in the book or on the sign at the start.  Hopefully we've learnt our lesson.

I've put up a picture of the map - to show just how wrong we really got it.  We were supposed to do a 5.5km walk, but we ended up doing over 10kms.  The lowest path we were supposed to take was the National Pass...we took the Wentworth Pass (the one with the "Experienced Walkers Only Beyond This Point" sign), and then detoured about 10 times from even the wrong track.  But it was definitely worth it!

Cliff stairs.
So glad we were going up, couldn't have coped looking down the cliff at this angle!

What we thought was nearing the top...

...we had no clue!
I think another hour and a half later we finally got back to the car.
But definitely worth it - check out that view!
