Weet-bix Kids

Brekky by the beach - our little ritual before we play work tag.  Looks like I'm 'it'...damn!

T Dog & the Comfy Couch

This poor little man was in no shape for an engagement party, so the party had to come to him...sort of.  Thank you for the BRILLIANT dinner and comfy couch Momo!

Check out the BLING!

After nine years, the bling appears - but worth the wait hey Em :o)
(Sorry, Rach cut off the other hand - I know there were another 5 there)

Kyoto second time around - on wheels

"Look no hands", at least the passerby was impressed :o)

Missing our own bikes - it's us, of course we had to take a couple for a spin!

DISNEYLAND!!!!!

OK, so food was a MASSIVE part of the trip...

Believe it or not, but there are actually mobile phone accessories sold in this restaurant that look like this meal.

Shoei & Soba (hot & cold) :o)

Shibuya Crossing

Tokyo Bay

Jun, Shoei, Luke & the Captain.

Talk about spoilt, Shoei took Luke out on a chartered boat fishing for Shibass in Tokyo Bay.

He also had us stay at his place and I had his exceptionally patient family try their hardest to chat to the idiot that had come to Japan not speaking a word of Japanese :o)  I felt like a total git but they were fantastic!  So patient!  Arigatou gozaimashita.  (....still not sure if that's right - have I learnt nothing!?...anyway, thank you!)

Monja! Tokyo's Soul Food

Thanks Shoei!
Shoei cooking up a storm! Monja!!!

Atsushi, Shoei, Kei & us. "Peace signs, please" :o)

Osaka soul food (but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called besides "Yum")

Dessert - red beans in a crepe. Soooooo good!!!

Kabukicho, Shinjuku

Besides food poisoning I'm usually not too worried about Luke's love of food, but when he dragged me into a Yakuza hang out for his second dinner of the night, it did make me a little wary.

Kinkaku-ji

Nishi Hongan-ji

Kiyomizu Temple

Ninnen-zaka to Sannen-zaka

Jelly cups - Japan style!
Luke's favourite, needless to say we had to walk back and get them three times (if only the walk wasn't 8k's each way)!

Kyoto - home of the Temples & Shrines

I don't think we have ever walked so far!  Kyoto has over 300 temples and over 1600 shrines...and it felt like we saw most of them (all on foot)!  We met some other Aussies who looked at us like we were nuts when they asked how we were getting around Kyoto.  Needless to say we had shin splints and fat ankles by the end.  But it was worth it!

Nishiki Market

Food glorious food!
I don't think I've ever seen so many pickled vegetables.

A shrine next to a reggae shop???

Luke has been telling me about these sweets since we got together.  5 years was a little too much hype.  They were as exciting as they sound - rice balls with peanut powder...but at least he was stoked :o)

Higashi Honganji Temple

Arashiyama, Kyoto

Fish on a stick - guts and all!

Tenryuji Temple

 One size fits all...maybe not
